• It was established in 1930, and had an interregnum
between 1976 and 1992, during the First Republic,
resuming its activity in 1992, following the establishment
of the second Republic. Its reestablishment was
ratified by the Prime Minister’s decree Nr
1/97.
• It is a patron association of economic nature
for Angola’s private enterprises related to
several branches of activity, such as manufacturing,
technology, and services.
• It is a public non-profit making organization.
• It has a national coverage with nearly 60
branches of business, with special evidence to the
manufacturing industry, agriculture and cattle breeding,
civil construction, fishing, transports, telecommunications,
informatics, building materials, chemistry,and services,
etc.
• The members of governing bodies are elected
every three years and take part in the General Meeting,
Audit Committee, and Board of Directors.
• It has a social partnership with the Government
led by MPLA and by Mr.José Eduardo dos Santos,
President of Angola, and therefore member of the
National Council for Social Concertation, as well
as of other entities.
• Each branch of business (Bureau) has a Coordinator.
• 2100 members and activities located in the
provinces of Luanda, Buenguela, Cabinda, Huíla,
Huambo, namiba, Bié, Uíge, Kwanza-Sul
and Kwanza-Norte.
• Representation Offices abroad are in South
Africa, Belgium, China, Congo (Brazzaville), D.R.Congo
(Kinshasa), Netherlands; India; Mozambique, Namibia,
Portugal, andZimbabwe.
• The association owns the Filda Complex,
the land and facilities of which are registered
with the Land registry. It has 24 hectares of land
and 24.000 m2 of covered area, with five pavilions
for exhibitions requiring new investments. It is
managed by the consortium Expo Angola, and led by
AIA with the involvement of some associations and
state bodies for fairs and related activities at
AIA’s invitation. Designated as FILDA, the
main activity taking place there is the organisation
of “FILDA” and “FENAPRO”
